Data visualization is more than just building graphs, it’s trying to determine the best way to showcase your business problems, opportunities, strategies, and growth. Learn which data visuals tell the best story, depending on your business objective.

Some experience building a table or graph in Excel and knowledge of basic statistics (averages, range, etc.) such as from the Excel Accelerator is expected.

This course is intended for anyone interested in trying to learn more from their data and share the results in a visually appealing and compelling way. Explore creative and visual data displays (graphs & tables) and identify the best Excel tools in your data storytelling toolkit.

Expectation – interest in trying Excel, self-motivation, basic Excel understanding (such as from the Accelerator: Intro to Excel)

Homework – exercises may be assigned after each session for your own practice

Instructor:

Your instructor, Amanda Nugent, is a Cross-Functional Leader & Consumer Advocate currently working at The Walt Disney Company as a Manager of Consumer Insights. Amanda previously worked as a Senior Statistician at Nestle, and as a Statistician at E&J Gallo Winery.

Amanda holds a BS in Mathematics from California State University – Stanislaus, an MS in Statistics from California State University – East Bay, and an MBA from Otterbein University.
