Denison Edge and Our Affiliations

Denison Edge, an extension of the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration at Denison University, offers supplementary skill-building experiences to college students, recent graduates, and new and established professionals.

Denison provides a life-shaping experience to our students, and at Denison Edge we also offer working professionals opportunities to pivot, accelerate, and continue to build their careers.

Our location in downtown Columbus, Ohio is key to connecting students and professionals to the broader Columbus business community and the ever-growing list of opportunities in the city.

Denison Edge is an initiative of Denison University, a top liberal arts institution in Granville, Ohio.

The Austin E. Knowlton Center for Career Exploration

Denison Edge is an extension of the Austin E. Knowlton Center for Career Exploration at Denison University.

The Knowlton Center offers 300+ on-campus career programs, $600,000+ in internship stipends, 16 industry-specific career coaches, recruiters from Business, Technology, Healthcare, Finance, Consulting, Nonprofit, Government and more.

Throughout the school year, the Knowlton Center hosts a broad span of employers for on-campus and virtual visits where students can hear keynote speakers, talk to recruiters, and network with Denison alumni and employers in various organizations.

Austin E. Knowlton Foundation

Denison Edge expresses profound gratitude to The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation for their thoughtful generosity in establishing a leadership commitment to Denison University.

Funds from the Austin E. Knowlton Foundation supports the development and piloting of Denison Edge – a central hub for creativity and innovation in the career and exploration space. Under our grant, we can open up expand our programming to students from the following universities: Bluffton, Capital, Heidelberg, Kenyon, Marietta, Ohio Wesleyan, Otterbein Wittenberg, Wooster, Baldwin Wallace, Ohio Northern.

Austin E. “Dutch” Knowlton was the owner and chairman of the Knowlton Construction Company based in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Mr. Knowlton led more than 600 major construction projects throughout Ohio and the Midwest, including college and university buildings, hospitals and libraries. He also was an original founding partner and the largest shareholder of the Cincinnati Bengals, a minority owner of the Cincinnati Reds, and he was instrumental in building Cincinnati’s Riverfront Stadium for both teams.

Mr. Knowlton grew up in Logan County, Ohio, and graduated from Ohio State University (where the school of architecture is named in his honor) in 1931. Mr. Knowlton credited his many life successes to his transformative college experience, and created the Knowlton Foundation in 1981 to make high impact contributions to schools in Ohio and nearby states.
