Denison University Launches New Downtown Hub for Professional Development

Leading liberal arts university introduces Denison Edge in Columbus to equip students and
professionals with stackable skills and certifications that cater to the needs of today’s job market

(Columbus, Ohio) January 27, 2022 – Today, Denison University in Granville, announced the opening of its Denison Edge office in downtown Columbus. An extension of Denison’s Knowlton Center for Career Exploration, Denison Edge provides hands-on training and professional development opportunities from industry experts to help liberal arts students, recent graduates and professionals refine and add skill sets, direction and knowledge needed to succeed in their career journey. This facility marks an important milestone for Denison Edge as it has expanded programming to the greater Columbus community.

Headquartered in a top city for new college graduates, Denison Edge offers a variety of career-forward programs that focus on closing skills gaps. These include stackable and industry-recognized credentials, such as marketing, finance, supply chain, sales and analytics, as well as courses to help develop leadership and problem-solving expertise. Denison Edge programs also provide students with guidance to apply their liberal arts education, life experiences and passions to their career path.

“Too often, we force students to make a false choice between a life shaping liberal arts education and a pre-professional education that gives them important early career skills,” said Adam Weinberg, president of Denison University. “Denison Edge is on the forefront of where higher education is headed. We are providing liberal arts students with the practical, hands-on programs that helps them identify their career passions and launch quickly and successfully into their careers and lives.”

Denison Edge programs are led by industry experts and are open to current Denison University students and alumni, students from other universities across the country, and new and experienced professionals. Programming varies by lengths and requirements, offering in-person and virtual formats that cater to different scheduling needs.
