This program will introduce you to the current landscape of generative AI: What these tools are, what they aren’t, and how to use them with intention. We'll break down common myths, explain what AI is good at, and what it is bad at.

This session will help students build foundational literacy in AI while considering the broader social and professional context in which these tools exist. Participants will gain an overview of today’s most widely used AI tools for text, image, and video generation, illustrated with real examples from Nha’s work in marketing and research. We’ll also explore key trends shaping how people are building and using AI technologies.
Equally important, the session will examine the cultural narratives and ethical implications surrounding AI, including global access gaps, environmental impacts, and the often-invisible labor behind training datasets. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a curated list of newsletters, podcasts, experts, and YouTube channels to help them stay informed about the evolving AI landscape.

Meet Your Instructor
Nha is a Denison alum and an analyst at FedEx with a background in marketing and digital strategy. Since 2023, she has been using generative AI tools at work and out of work for many things – even switching careers. Based in Vietnam, she brings a global perspective to understanding AI and its role in the workplace. Nha is passionate about helping students develop practical, career-ready AI skills with a human approach.
