Great presentations do more than share information. They communicate ideas clearly, engage audiences, and inspire action. In this hands-on, two-hour workshop, participants will build the foundational Microsoft PowerPoint skills needed to create polished, professional presentations for the workplace, classroom, nonprofit organizations, and beyond. Participants will learn how to navigate PowerPoint efficiently, design visually appealing slides, organize content for maximum impact, and incorporate images, charts, and other visual elements that strengthen key messages. The workshop also explores themes and Slide Masters for consistent branding, effective use of animations and transitions, presenter tools and speaker notes, and strategies for delivering presentations with confidence. In addition to presentation design and delivery techniques, participants will discover time-saving features and productivity tips that make creating professional presentations faster and more effective.

Meet Your Instructor
Robert Butts is an Educational Technologist who helps people build real confidence with everyday digital tools. At Denison University, he partners with professors to bring technology into the classroom in ways that are practical, creative, and easy to use. He earned his B.B.A. in Marketing from Kent State University and his M.S. in Translational Data Analytics from The Ohio State University. He has worked in higher education, K-12 education, market research, restaurants, and retail. Each of these experiences shaped the way he teaches: with patience, clear explanations, and a focus on meeting learners where they are. Robert has served as an Educational Technologist at both Denison University and The Ohio State University, worked as an educator in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and earned a Kenan Fellowship at North Carolina State University. Across these roles, he has developed a lasting love for education and a deep appreciation for the many ways people learn. In his programs, Robert focuses on making technology feel approachable, useful, and even enjoyable. When he is not working, he enjoys basketball, video games, discovering new YouTube channels, and exploring national parks with his wife
